Our Story

The Temple Society aims to protect the historic fabric and enhance the western boundary of Temple. This captivating area features many unique buildings to explore and admire. The western boundary encompasses Devereux Court, Essex Street, and Little Essex Street.

Temple appears well preserved; however, the areas outside Middle and Inner Temple Inns, specifically Essex Street and Devereux Court, have suffered neglect and over-commercialisation in recent years. These locations, lying outside Middle and Inner Temple Inns, present unique challenges.

The Society serves as a platform for residents, employees and members to preserve the area's heritage for future generations. We listen to your concerns and develop solutions for waste, nuisance, traffic, planning, licensing and promoting local heritage.
